Eleanor Adachi (she/her) is a NSF Graduate Research Fellow and Master’s student in both the Energy and Resources Group and the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley. She is passionate about designing policies that simultaneously promote grid decarbonization and equitable access to clean energy. In addition, she is interested in studying how resilience and environmental justice can be incorporated into decision-making processes. Eleanor has 6+ years of professional work experience in the energy industry, and has developed rooftop solar projects for nonprofits and low-income communities, optimized procurement for a large investor-owned utility's electric portfolio, managed a demand response program at an energy storage company, and designed and implemented demand response policy for the state of California. She holds bachelor’s degrees in engineering science and physics from Smith College.

Eleanor was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and has a deep love for the California landscape. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, spending time outdoors, and dancing like no one is watching.
