Class MPP 2024

Charlotte Aaron is a joint Juris Doctor and Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and Goldman School of Public Policy.

As a Phoenix native, she was introduced to the idea of “public policy” in 8th grade when she saw firsthand the dangers Arizona’s SB1070 posed for the Mexican-American members of her community – the law caused them to live differently than she. Since, Charlotte has sought out experiences that would give her insight into the sources of and solutions to inequality. She has grown passionate about increasing equality in the following policy areas: education, reproductive justice, social welfare, poverty and inequality, immigration, and campaign finance reform.

Prior to arriving at Berkeley, Charlotte taught high school math and coached the girls and boys tennis teams at a Title I school in Nashville as a Teach For America corps member. The students stole her heart (and candy/pencils/tampons/phone to take selfies), continue to make her laugh, and inspire her to pursue policy change with urgency, compassion, and strong quantitative analysis (See, students? Math is important!).

Charlotte enjoys outdoor adventures such as hiking, skiing, biking, spending time with friends and family, refining her rough Spanish-speaking skills, reading, and catching up with her former students. She graduated from Brandeis University in 2018 with a BA in Business and minors in Journalism and Legal Studies.
