About

Home State or Country Oakland, CA

Class MPP 2024

Bridget is currently pursuing a Master's in Public Policy at the Goldman School. After years spent in and out of jail and the streets battling addiction and all the violence that comes with that all too common Bay Area story, she found healing and community with other formerly incarcerated students in higher education. Her interest in public policy, specifically regarding housing and the carceral system, is rooted in her own lived experience and dedication to finding solutions and building power in community with other impacted people. After several years of legislative and community organizing and legal advocacy, she seeks to translate the transformative solutions that come from lived expertise into policy. She has worked as an organizer, trainer and coach with formerly and currently incarcerated people. She has also worked as a researcher, advocate and contributor on decarceral and housing and public health policy at the local and state level. She is dedicated in life and career to dismantling the policies and institutions that criminalize and degrade our communities and make all of us less safe.
