Undergraduate Minor
I plan to study abroad and will be taking a policy-related course. Can I have one of the courses I take count towards the public policy minor?
You may petition for minor course credit for one course taken at a study UCB abroad program, if a) you have junior or senior status, b) will be abroad during your junior or senior year at Berkeley, c) you have already completed 3 public policy minor course requirements, and d) the course is equivalent to 3 units at Berkeley.
I’m going to participate in the UC-DC program taking policy-related classes. Can I count any of the courses I take towards the minor?
You may petition for minor course credit for one course taken through UC-DC, if a) you are junior or senior status, b) will be participating in the UC-DC program during your junior or senior year at Berkeley, c) you have already completed 3 public policy minor course requirements, and d) the course is equivalent to 3 units at Berkeley.
I am taking a class outside of the policy department that is heavily policy related. Can I count this course towards the public policy minor?
You may petition for minor course credit if a) you are a graduating senior, b) you have already completed 3 public policy minor course requirements, and c) the course is at least 3 units.
I am a public policy minor and on the waiting list for a public policy course. Will I receive priority?
For most public policy undergraduate courses, if you have officially declared the minor (submitted the paperwork), and you are showing up to the class lectures, you will be given priority off of the waiting list in the following rank order: Senior standing (and have taken at least two courses that fulfill the public policy minor requirements), Junior standing (and have taken at least one that fulfills the public policy minor requirements).
