SCiPP Admissions Peer Advising

Program Mission

The Students of Color in Public Policy (SCiPP) is a student-run organization dedicated to increasing racial and ethnic diversity within the student community. To achieve this goal, SCiPP recruits current GSPP students to serve as Peer Advisors to guide prospective applicants through the graduate application process.

Peer Advisors provide feedback on final drafts of the Policy Statement of Purpose (PSP), give advice on the application process, and answer general questions about GSPP. We gladly provide our services to ALL who are interested, regardless of race or ethnicity, and highly encourage individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to reach out to our team and visit SCiPP's external website.

Please be advised that the SCiPP Peer Advising Program is hosted as part of the SCIPP organization, and we are not trained by, nor represent, in any way, the admissions committee or the GSPP Administration. Our work is strictly volunteer and our feedback does not guarantee admission to the Goldman School of Public Policy (GSPP).  Current GSPP students provide advice and feedback on Policy Statement of Purpose (PSP) essays and answer general questions about GSPP to the best of their knowledge.

Comments and advice are purely to help prospective applicants better communicate their skills and strengths in the PSP essay and to make a more informed decision about the public policy graduate program.
