Prior degrees received:
B.A., University of California, Los Angeles
MBA, Peter Drucker School of Management, Claremont Graduate University
Most recent position:
Project Manager, Community Building Initiative, California Community Foundation
Professional background in public policy
“Prior to studying at Goldman, I worked as a grantmaker and project manager for a place-based initiative in Los Angeles on behalf of the California Community Foundation. I also helped found the El Monte Promise Foundation, a cradle-to-college pathway program that couples community asset-building strategies with college access programming to help low-income students and families succeed.”
Rigorous multidisciplinary curriculum
“I had worked in philanthropy for almost 7 years and learned a lot about the intersection of policy and philanthropic investments, but I needed more skills to understand the real impact of social change investment and measure impact. The MPA at Goldman is equipping me with the strategic and analytical skills necessary to identify, consume, and evaluate the effectiveness of policy interventions. Getting an MPA at Goldman means that I can leverage the technical skills I received in management school with the rich multidisciplinary policy analysis curriculum offered at GSPP.”
Collaborative learning environment
“My instructors are amazing, they are leading researchers, thought leaders, influencers, connectors, and most importantly they are committed to my learning and growth in all my academic and professional pursuits.
My cohort is amazing. They come from all over the world, and have all done impressive work. Through rich and lively discussion, we complement learning in the classroom by sharing our experiences on tackling real problems. In this regard the MPA has proven to be a real-world learning laboratory for me!
During the summer we were all challenged with the intense course and homework load. My classmates taught each other, we supported each other, and we made sure everyone completed the intense summer session. No Goldy was left behind! I have met some my best friends at Cal through the cohort, we continue to support each other through the program, and expect to remain life-long friends.”
