Biography

Daryel R. Dunston currently serves as a Fire Marshal with the Prince George's County Fire Department, the largest and busiest combination fire department in the nation. Dunston's response area spans approximately 500 square miles, and the densely populated suburb of Washington, DC. rivals the populations of most major urban cities. Prior to joining the fire department in 2011, Dunston served in various leadership roles in the non-profit sector. As a Marketing & Development Manager with the Army Distaff Foundation, Dunston was instrumental in raising over $13 million and securing Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) as the keynote speaker for the foundation's annual gala. Dunston is also a contributing writer with The Huffington Post. Dunston's policy interests center on low-income communities, race & gender equity, access to higher education, affordable healthcare, and emergency preparedness management.
