Michelle Chern

Cal Class of 2013

Michelle Chern is a junior at UC Berkeley, majoring in Political Science with a focus on International Relations and a minor in Public Policy. She is interested in Sino-American relations, particularly major policy debates in the U.S., China, and the international community on issues such as governance and development in China. Her research will focus on the evolving and contentious nature of U.S. policy development and dialogue on China in response to China’s rise. During her semester in Washington, D.C., Michelle will be an intern with the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Elizabeth Marsolais

Cal Class of 2013

Elizabeth Marsolais is a junior Majoring in Political Science. She is interested in constitutional law. Elizabeth hopes to gain experience in this area while participating in the UC in Washington Program. Her internship is with the House Committee on the Judiciary and she plans on attending law school after graduating from UC Berkeley.

Hasan Zahid

Cal Class of 2012

Hasan Zahid was born in Lahore, Pakistan, and raised the majority of his life in Berkeley, California. He is a 4th year Political Economics major, with a minor in Urban Planning. He is keenly interested in issues of globalization and economic development in the international arena and plans on researching policies that affect sustainable growth in metropolitan cities in America and the developing world. He enjoys interacting with new people and learning from diverse backgrounds and experiences and believes in implementing a fresh innovative mindset to addressing the challenges of the modern world. During his internship he hopes to be able to conduct research on economic policy and development.
