Description

Solutions Journalism Network encourages journalists to reach out to academics to identify what policies are working well, and then to report on them. Goldman School Professor David Kirp draws on his experience as a former newspaper editor, policy consultant, and academic in his writing on education (frequently published in the New York Times).

Join us to learn tips and tricks to bring a public policy mode of thinking to your writing: to figure out the right question to ask, to identify something that is worthy of a story even if it is not news, and to tie your stories to a national conversation.

We'll discuss these two stories, so please read them ahead of time:

We'll gather for drinks and appetizers then start promptly at 6:00 p.m.
