Donna M. Coit retired from Public Health after working nearly 40 years as a Nutritionist, Educator and Program Manager at the State and local levels. She served as State Coordinator for the California Women, Infants and Children Program when it was a pilot project in 1970s. The diversity of the Public Health field enabled her to lead projects in Migrant Education, Meals on Wheels, Food Stamp Outreach and various nutrition education projects. She directed a Robert Wood Johnson funded Childhood Asthma Program for a county Health Plan and served as county Coordinator for the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. In addition, she taught nutrition for several semesters as an Adjunct Faculty member at Las Positas Community College in Livermore.
Ms. Coit holds a Master Public Health from UC Berkeley and BA/BS degrees in Education and Nutrition from Framingham State University in Massachusetts. She has served on boards of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, the Diablo Valley Dietetic Association, the Summit Bank Foundation, Weigh of Life, the UC Berkeley Center for Weight and Health and the Ruth Bancroft Garden.
