January 22, 2024 – The Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley and USAFacts, based in Bellevue, WA, jointly announce the launch of their 2024 Data Skills for Congress certificate program. In many countries, food is prepared over a wood or charcoal fire, often indoors. The smoke causes serious respiratory disease and contributes significantly to global carbon emissions. While more efficient cookstoves can improve both health and the environment, carbon credits sold on the global market vastly overvalue their climate impact. Remembering Eugene Smolensky

The Goldman School of Public Policy mourns the passing of Emeritus Professor and former GSPP Dean Eugene Smolensky on Sunday, Dec 17, 2023, at the age of 91.    Eugene “Geno” Smolensky was Dean of the Goldman School of Public Policy from 1988 to 1997 and Director of the Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin from 1980 to 1983.
