GSPP Alumni Association Nominations

Nominations for the 2009 GSPPAA Board of Directors election are now closed

May 2009

Dear GSPP Alumni:
Greetings from the GSPP Alumni Association (GSPPAA)! We hope this letter finds you well.

We are writing to request your networking expertise to help with:

  • Nominations for the GSPPAA Board of Directors
  • Nominations for alumnus of the year and special awards, to be given at this year's alumni dinner in Fall 2009

We are now accepting nominations for each of these processes from GSPP alumni through June 5, 2009 - please use the nomination form below (or you can send nominations directly to Cecille Cabacungan, GSPP Director of Career & Alumni Services (cecille@berkeley.edu).   Self and anonymous nominations are welcome in any category.

GSPP Alumni Association Board of Directors Nominations

The GSPPAA Board of Directors seeks nominations for alumni to serve 3-year terms beginning September 2009 (to fill five openings on the Board). The five individuals-elect will join the ten continuing members of the Board. The Board leads initiatives to serve alumni, students, and the school. Current efforts include the alumni-student mentoring program, and supporting efforts to engage local alumni communities. The Board also encourages fellow alumni in hosting APAs and IPAs; hiring for summer internships and full-time jobs; recruiting applicants to enroll at GSPP; and providing financial and in-kind support to GSPP. A current Board member will contact those who are nominated over the next month to discuss the position.

Alumnus of the Year and Special Awards Nominations

Each year GSPP recognizes an alum who has made a significant contribution to the field of public policy. In some years, GSPP also gives an additional award for unique contributions (in 2003 the special award was for Public Service, in 2004 for Policy Innovation, in 2007 for Policy Leadership). These awards are presented at the School's Alumni Recognition Dinner, which will be held in Berkeley in October 2009.
