GSPP Alumni Association Board of Directors Nominations
The GSPPAA Board of Directors seeks nominations for alumni to serve 3-year terms beginning September 2008 (to fill five openings on the Board). The five individuals-elect will join the ten continuing members of the Board. The Board leads initiatives to serve alumni, students, and the school. Current efforts include the alumni-student mentoring program, providing input to the search for a new dean, and supporting efforts to engage local alumni communities. The Board also leads and encourages fellow alumni in hosting APAs and IPAs; hiring for summer internships and full-time jobs; recruiting applicants to enroll at GSPP; and providing financial and in-kind support to GSPP. A current Board member will contact those who are nominated over the next month to discuss the position.
Alumnus of the Year and Special Awards
Each year we recognize an alum who has made a significant contribution to public policy. In some years, we also provide an additional award for unique contributions (in 2003 the special award was for Public Service, in 2004 for Policy Innovation, in 2007 for Policy Leadership). These awards are presented at the School's Alumni Recognition Dinner, which will be held in Berkeley in October 2008.
