Biographical Statement:
Sean Farhang has a PhD in political science from Columbia University and a JD from NYU School of Law. His research interests focus on law and politics, courts, and litigation in the regulatory process, with a methodological emphasis on institutions and political development. He teaches GSPP’s core course in law and public policy, among other courses. He is currently working on a book manuscript examining the sources and consequences of private litigation in the policy enforcement process, stressing Congress’ role and motives in enacting (or not enacting) incentives calculated to mobilize this form of regulatory implementation within a separation of powers institutional framework. His research has appeared in political science and legal journals.
